ChessKid is excited to announce the National ChessKid Championship, our first event with each state hosting the qualifiers! The main event will take place on December 11, 2021 and ChessKids will qualify through their state's championship on earlier weekends.
So how do you qualify? Find your state's registration below!
Players from each state's qualifier event will be eligible to play in one of two sections at the National ChessKid Championship. Players that score at least three points (in a five-round tournament) or four points (in a six round tournament) will qualify for the Championship section. Players who score less will be invited to play in the Reserve section. Prizes for the event will include exclusive GM mini-camps, free one-year ChessKid gold memberships, physical prizes, and more!
Please note that this a ChessKid event and is not associated with the US Chess Federation.
ChessKid will be helping local organizers in each state host individual events! In addition, these local hosts will be able to generate revenue from their efforts.
To run a ChessKid qualifier event, large-scale organizers or state federations can contact the ChessKid events team. ChessKid will give step-by-step instructions to tournament organizers on how to run a qualifier. We will also offer day-of-event support and fair play analysis after the tournament.
Each event must follow a standard format that we will share with organizers. All qualifier events must run any weekend day between October 30th-November 21st (can be a Saturday or a Sunday).
If interested in hosting your state's ChessKid qualifier, please contact ChessKid. Remember, this is a revenue-generating event for the organizer, whether it is a private organization or the state federation!
