The Women's section of the 45th Chess Olympiad is an 11-round team Swiss tournament played in classical time control. At the end of the event, the team with the most match points wins.
Teams consist of four players and one reserve. Each team has a captain, who can also be one of the players or the reserve.
Nations compete for team trophies and medals, and players compete for individual medals on their specific board.
