ChessKid is excited to announce the first ever ChessKid International Children and Youth Online Festival: “ChessKid Jets to the Cadets”! This event will take place on July 23 and 24, 2022. The festival consists of an online tournament, with the winners being able to take part in a special event at the FIDE World Cadets Chess Championships 2022 in Batumi, Georgia!

Once players are registered, they will receive instructions on how to join the event.

The tournament's format will be played using an online 9-round Swiss System.
There are sections for multiple different age groups:
U8: Born on or after 1st of January 2014
U10: Born on or after 1st of January 2012
U12: Born on or after 1st of January 2010
To participate in the tournament, players must download and install Zoom. The application can be downloaded by clicking this link.
Players are required to turn on their webcams and activate the 'Share My Screen' feature in Zoom during each round. See the Fair Play section for more details.
The time control will be 5 minutes + a 5-second increment starting from the first move.
Tournaments will be streamed on the ChessKid Twitch channel with special guest commentary!

* If you want to play for free, you must register for the FIDE World Cadets Chess Championships tournament first. Otherwise, the participation fee will not be refunded! ChessKid reserves the right to ask for confirmation of registration in the FIDE World Cadets Chess Championships.
After confirmation by the Organizing Committee, players must pay no later than July 20, 2022. All bank charges are paid by the sender.

All six winners of the online tournament will be able to participate in a friendly match between the ChessKid Team and Adjarian Chess Federation Team in Batumi during a free day of the FIDE World Cadets Chess Championships. Kids who receive prizes as part of the tournament must participate in this special event. This activity will consist of:

Winners (1st place) in each age category (U8, U10, U12, girls & open) will receive a certificate for $400 USD to be used for participation in the FIDE World Cadets Chess Championship 2022 in Batumi.* If the winner is unable to participate in the championship, second place will receive this certificate; if second place can’t participate, third place, and so on.
* The winner will receive this certificate only on arrival in Batumi!
All tournament participants will receive electronic certificates of participation.
Winners and awardees (1st, 2nd, 3rd places) will receive electronic diplomas.
