The double attack is perhaps the most common tactic. It can lead to any other tactic (that makes it "versatile"). How many tactics can you name?
After you have watched the videos, and solved my other puzzles, then you can solve these puzzles! Each attack will also attack something else. (Double means two of course.) So we will attack attack!
Look for loose pieces (not lose pieces, that means they have like fallen into a black hole or something). Okay but you will lose a loose piece if you're not careful.
1. White to move and check the king while putting pressure on a loose piece. (One that is attacked once already and only guarded once.)
2. This double attack is very clever because one of black's pieces is pinned!
3. Another clever pin! If the knight takes, there will be a helper mate on g7.
4. Threaten checkmate and put pressure on a loose piece.
5. Again.
6. Here it looks like you're in a jam, because they are double attacking you. But hey, attack back and threaten mate! Remember to always look for forcing moves like checks, threats, and captures.
How did you do?
1. Fire Ant
2. Ladybug
3. Robin
4. Snake
5. Barn Owl
6. Golden Eagle
