This year, mark your calendars for the very first US Chess National Puzzle Championship on Thursday, May 8, 2025, co-organized by US Chess and ChessKid!
1) The National Puzzle Championship will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 3pm ET onsite at SuperNationals VIII in Orlando, FL. The National Puzzle Championship will take place after the Bughouse tournament and before the Blitz Championship, so players have the chance to participate in all three events!
2) The National Puzzle Championship will have two divisions: grades K-6 and grades 7-12. All kids in grades K-12 are invited to compete even if you're not playing in the main tournament. However, all players must have a current US Chess membership. Registration for both the puzzle championship and the main event can be found here.
3) All participants must provide their own laptop, phone, or tablet that has Wi-Fi capabilities. Phones and tablets should have the ChessKid app downloaded before the event. The ChessKid team will provide one-time accounts for the participants. Participants will compete on ChessKid.
4) This is an official national championship event, sanctioned by US Chess. The top 15 finishers in each section will be awarded plaques, including the title of "National Puzzle Champion"!
