As of 2020, they have almost 100,000 members, making it one of the world's largest chess federations. Pretty impressive!

Why Is The USCF Important?

The US Chess Federation is important because it's responsible for all official tournaments in the United States. They also keep track of US players' official national ratings and award national titles (like candidate master, national master, and senior master) to those who earn them.

They also publish Chess Life, Chess Life for Kids, and multiple podcasts. In a nutshell, they promote and support chess all across the country.
